Department of Physics was established in the year of 1986. In the year 2016 department has started Physics specialization (T.Y.B.Sc.). Later on in 2021 department has started  Post Graduation (M.Sc.) course in Physics. With these courses department runs different short term courses for different classes like C Programming for S .Y.B.Sc. class and circuit analysis of domestic home appliences for T.Y.B.Sc. class. Every year department organizes study tours , field visits to different laboratories in the Pune city like IISER, IITM, IUCCA. Department has undersigned a MOU with company named Bhargav Enterprises which is currently working in area of Solars. All the faculty of department is well qualified and experienced. Currently Mr. Ajit S. Jadhav  is the Head of the department. Total 5 faculty working in the department. Department has started small research laboratory for research work as well as research project of PG students.
