Qualitative and Quantitative Analysis

This short course provides foundational knowledge and practical skills in both qualitative and quantitative chemical analysis, essential for students pursuing studies in chemistry and related disciplines. Divided into two sections, the course first focuses on Qualitative Analysis, guiding students through the systematic identification of cations, anions, and functional groups in organic and inorganic compounds using classical chemical methods. The second section on Quantitative Analysis introduces precise measurement techniques used to determine the amount or concentration of substances. This includes traditional gravimetric and volumetric methods, along with an introductory overview of modern instrumental techniques like spectrophotometry and potentiometry. Throughout the course, emphasis is placed on analytical reasoning, careful observation, and the minimization of experimental error. By the end of the course, learners will be able to apply classical and modern analytical techniques for substance identification and quantification in laboratory and industrial settings.
